My system BIOS gives a "No memory" error with a DC P3700 PCIe drive installed

I have an older Intel system (~5-6 years) that has a revision 2.0 PCIe slot. The system will not boot to BIOS & beeps indicating a "No memory" error when my P3700 is installed. The latest BIOS is dated July 2013 so I have to assume it should recognize this drive. The P3700 specs indicate that it's revision 3.0 but is backwards compatible. The OS is Win 7 but it errors when power is turned on. Any ideas why?

The system is Smackover & the model is a DX58SO. EverythingI've read says that the P3700 should work but the BIOS beeps with the no memoryerror. I even removed the DIMMs thinking that maybe they were the issue but hadthe same results 😞

I am sorry for the delay on coming back to you.

The P3xxx drives require PCIe 3.0 so it will have problems to work in the DX58SO.

This is documented in the Product Brief under "Interface" on page 2.
