Hello nyanloutre,
Thanks for your reply. Checking the shared lspci output, we weren't able to find any details that might help fixing the drive. The retail versions of Intel® SSD 600p Series have a limited 5 years warranty, so the drive should apply for RMA. You can confirm the product warranty https://supporttickets.intel.com/warrantyinfo here. We recommend to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact-support.html contact your local support to check replacement options. Please check your private messages or let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.Best regards,Eugenio F.

Hi,

I have a similar problem than thread :

I used a SSD for several months as a boor drive and now it's not recognised as an UEFI boot drive and I can't see it in a live USB. But I don't have another system to test it.

Booting from a live USB does not recognise the SSD. This eventually gives the error: "nvme nvme0 identify controller failed (-4)". 'fdisk -l' does not show the SSD. The SSD is connected directly to the motherboard, was working before, and is:

Intel 600p 128GB 80mm PCIE 3.0 X4 M.2 SSD.

Motherboard is a SuperMicro A2SDi-4C-HLN4F.

Is there anything I can do to use it again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello nyanloutre,
Thanks for posting in our communities. The ultimate test would be to install the drive on a different system, but in this case we recommend to try a low level format/secure erase on your drive. It is important to point that all the data on the drive will be lost.In the following article you'll find some self-boot tools to format the drive without accusing an operating system:- https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006198/memory-and-storage.html Run a Low-Level Format on Intel® Solid State DrivesPlease let us know the results.Best regards,Eugenio F.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer. It seems I can't boot those tools on my system (it could be because they are DOS based).

For information I can see the SSD in lspci under linux : https://mensuel.framapad.org/p/r.34cb41c1f655059c17fe4822eed8e66c https://mensuel.framapad.org/p/r.34cb41c1f655059c17fe4822eed8e66c

Maybe you can get more information about the problem in it.

If you don't have any solution is it possible to get an RMA ?

Thanks,

Paul TREHIOU

Hi,

Do you have any insight on the root cause of the failure ?

Because the replacement SSD failed in the exact same way.

Thanks,
