topic Solidigm Synergy Driver with PS1030 in Solid State Drives (NAND)

I have a P44 and a PS1030 in my system. After I installed the Solidigm Synergy Driver in Solidigm Synergy Toolkit for the P44. I found the driver was automatically installed for the PS1030 as well. I'm aware the driver is not validated for PS1030. It didn't cause any noticeable immediate issue for the PS1030 but I'd like to ask a few questions about it.

- Is the behavior that the Solidigm Synergy Driver was automatically installed for PS1030 as well when installing it for P44 intended.
- Could the driver cause any instabilities for PS1030. Should I uninstall the Solidigm Synergy Driver.
- If I have to uninstall the Solidigm Synergy Driver for PS1030. Is there a way to uninstall the driver for PS1030 only and keep the driver for the P44.

I'm looking forward to the reply. Thanks.

Hi NekoMeow,

Thank you for reaching out and for providing a detailed description of your setup.

We understand your concerns regarding the Solidigm Synergy Driver being installed for both your P44 and PS1030 SSDs. Here's some clarification:

Driver Behavior: Yes, the Synergy Driver may auto-apply to all NVMe drives, including the PS1030, even though it’s not officially supported on that model.

Stability: While we haven’t seen known issues, since the PS1030 is an enterprise drive, we recommend using the default Windows NVMe driver for full compatibility.

Selective Uninstall: Windows doesn’t support different NVMe drivers per drive. You can manually switch the PS1030 back to the Microsoft driver via Device Manager, but this is an advanced step.

Let us know if you need help doing that or have more questions.

Best regards,
Gleb
Solidigm Customer Support
