P44pro Sequential writes are unusually slow

Today, when I was copying a large number of files, I found that the writing speed of the p44pro was very slow.

Then I used CrystalDiskMark 8 to test it, and the sequential writing speed was only 2000MB/s.

I tried restarting and manually optimizing trim but it couldn't be solved.
I need help.

ps.Other ssd works fine, win11 23h2

Please be aware that many factors can affect performance results, including sequential writing. Below, we would like to provide a few factors for you to check:

1.)Depending on the system configuration, some platforms share bandwidth across storage connectors. Confirm the drive is using the optimal connection and BIOS settings for best performance options by referencing the system user manual.

2.) Make sure you have the latest SSD firmware.

3.) The Solidigm™ Storage Tool provides options for P44Pro to improve performance.

NOTE

Drives under test should be connected to the system as a secondary (non OS) drive.
Some capabilities noted below may require the Solidigm™ Windows* Driver for Client SSDs or Data Center NVMe* Microsoft Windows* Drivers to be installed if supported. Confirm support on the driver page for your specific Solidigm™ SSD

4.) Download the application. Solidigm™ Storage Tool. There is also an option to run a Diagnostic Scan. A full scan should be done to make sure the product is in a healthy state. See SST User Guide for more details.

5.) Formatting the disk can help recover performance in some cases.

NOTE	Always backup data regularly and before proceeding as this process removes all data from the drive.

I still haven't solved the issue.
1. Bios settings are correct.
2. P44pro firmware is the latest 001C.
3. The driver and software have been installed.(driver v1.0 and v2.2 all have the same issue , Even the RST driver 19.5.2.1049 is)
4. Other PCEI4.0 SSD work normally, They can get read and write speed about 7000MB/s , This means that my system and my computer are working fine.
5. By HD tune testing, will see that the writing speed is obviously abnormal.

I asked other users and they said it was the SLC caching issue , it was a firmware bug and needed to wait for the new firmware to be fixed.

Some reviews has the same issue when testing p44pro.

update:

I tried copying a single 34gb file, no fix.
Tried copying 300gb file, no fix.
The speed is unstable during the copying process, fluctuating between 800-2200mb/s

I didn't perform a secure erase.
I believe a secure erase might fix the issue, but there's no way I'm going to secure erase it again and again every once in a while.（It has only been used for 1600 hours）
If the problem still happen, it's just a waste of time.

As you can see, this is not just me.
Others user have the same problem.

You need to make sure this problem doesn't happen again - provide new firmware to fix the issue.
Then I would perform a secure erase.

As you might know, some bugs may be resolved in a matter of days, while others may take several weeks or even months. As we told you before, we escalated your issue (as well as similar issues of other customers), but, in order to help you quickly solve your issue, we recommend secure arise as one of the possible options.

Secure erase can help refresh the entire SSD. However, following our recommendations or not is a personal choice of our customers, and we will not try to persuade them to do that.

~4000 MB/s SLC cache has limited capacity (apparently limited to ~300 GB total on the P44 Pro 2TB) and the drive can only write at that speed until the SLC cache becomes full. At that point the drive begins writing to much slower TLC flash at ~2000 MB/s.

When you do a test in Crystaldiskmark, there is no indicator to tell you how full your NVME SLC cache may currently be. That's why you can run 100 tests with different test sizes/ data types and get different write speed results.

It seems like ~2000 Mb/s sustained write speed is realistic for SEQ1M Q8T1 on this drive. You can expect burst speeds up to 4000 MB/s, but they could be infrequent depending on how frequently/ how much you're writing to your drive.

Same exact problem.
The only way to get back to the declared speed is formatting. But after a few months the speed disappears. Has anyone solved it?
It seems that the support doesn't care since all the time they don't communicate anything, the usual pre-compiled answers

Only a new firmware update can resolve this issue.

The same product, the SK hynix P41, was able to resolve the issue through a firmware update. 51060A20->51061A20

It's been years but Solidigm hasn't cared to fix the problem my p44 pro was thrown away, never produced Solidigm again. I've never seen a company that cares about the customer like Solidigm

Thank you for your message.

Please note that while the SK hynix P41 and the Solidigm P44 Pro may appear similar, they are distinct products with different firmware, validation, and support paths. A firmware update for the P41 does not automatically apply to the P44 Pro.
