Hello, the best recommendation is always to check with the system manufacturer for a list of validated SSD models since the compatibility depends on their implementation of the chipset and BIOS.

Hi,

I have a laptop, which has an Intel 82801GB/GYM (ICH7-M Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller. I would like to install either a Intel 530 or 335 Series SSD to my laptop. I would like to know whether either of these drives, i.e. 530 or 335 Series SSD, are supported by this Serial ATA Storage Controller? I am partial to Intel 530 Series SSD, but if compatibility issues are known then I can go with 335 Series SSD to. The main purpose of this is to extend the usable life of my laptop for a few more years.

My choice of OS is going to be Linux Debian 7.x Wheezy.

Any clarifications on this regard would be appreciated.

___________________________

Have a nice day

Amardeep
