P3608 ssd: lspci OK while fdisk fail to find device.

My P3608 ssd seems to have some problems recently. lspci works fine and I can find /dev/nvme*n1.

However, fdisk doesn't show this device.

isdct also cannot find information about this disk.

When using fio to test, it works fine without option "direct=1" while fails with it.

Does someone knows what happened to this ssd???

1. It's directly connected to the motherboard through PCIe slot.

2. It doesn't configured in RAID.

3. My linux distro information: ubuntu 16.04 with kernel linux 4.14.0

BTW, I find that "lsblk" shows the disk information correctly, while "fdisk -l"cannot show anything about the SSD. Then typing "fdisk /dev/nvme0n1", it only shows 5GB capacity.

Seems that updating firmware fails for some unknown reason.

isdct version is 3.0.10. Sorry to tell that my OS is ubuntu and don't have other OS versions for testing in the present.

Are there any other ways to update the firmware?

The os I am using is Fedora release 27, the same to redhat. However, I'm still unable to update the firmware.

I prefer to believe that something goes wrong with the hardware. I have tried to put this ssd on different machines and both have problems. What's more, everything is well only several days before. Maybe firmware doesn't so important for this problem. The message "Inappropriate ioctl for device" seems more important.
