Still no luck. I've now been through the 1st 40 pages of resellers and I have found almost none offering the S3700 and none of those have any availability.

S3700 Discontinued?

I just heard from CDW that the S3700 (or at least the 200GB product in this line) has been discontinued effective 6/28/13. Since this was just launched in Q4 2012, I'm very concerned. I've been trying to get a set of these drives for a couple of months and there simply hasn't been any supply. Is this line really dead?

I'm sure this isn't the right place to post this question, but I'm hoping that it will be forwarded to the right place before it needs to be removed...

Thanks!

Hello Dan,

The Intel® DC S3700 is not being discontinued.

Perhaps you would like to try with a different Intel® Authorized Distributor. For North America you may check the links below.

http://cache-www.intel.com/cd/00/00/08/99/89937_89937.pdf http://cache-www.intel.com/cd/00/00/08/99/89937_89937.pdf

http://www.intel.com/cd/channel/reseller/asmo-na/eng/32523.htm http://www.intel.com/cd/channel/reseller/asmo-na/eng/32523.htm

I've looked at all the locations in Texas. Every one of them only works with resellers. The only one I was able to get on the phone did check their inventory and told me that there are none available.

I really didn't think that this was discontinued since it was just launched, but that is the message I got from CDW (specifically their procurement department). I really do need to get my hands on several (9) of these drives. Are there any other avenues you can point me at?

They are still shipping. They are "significantly" backordered though. So much so that many vendors are pulling them from their websites/systems from what I can tell. We just received an order from Provantage after waiting about 3 weeks. We had ordered from another vendor initially and cancelled that order once we received the drives. That vendor said it would be another 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for the help. I was able to place an order with Provantage. Yes, it's on backorder but there is a hope that it will ship early next week. For anyone else looking, M&A Technology is also expecting to get some in within the next few weeks. I didn't order from them simply because I found Provantage first.
