can you use official Intel firmware on HP SSD?

Abut to pick up a used HP EliteBook 2530p.

It has an 80GB SSD: SSDSA1MH080G2HP

HP support has a firmware dated Feb 2011, which isn't the latest Intel released firmware with the 8mb fix.

My question is, can you simply take the official/latest firmware for this X-18M drive FROM the Intel site and flash the HP SSD?

The 8MB bug fix is for 320 series drives, not the X-18M.

Yeps....Just saw that on the Release Notes now.

Anyways, back to tthe original question. Possible to do the flash with Intel firmware?
