I am looking at arc-1880i and two 510 intel SSDs for a Win7 64-bit OS. Not really into the software raid. I want to take advantage of the latest Sata speeds

The SSDs will simply be single disks which will not be part of any raid array.

Would trim work in this setup? Or anyone have a guide to setting it up?

You will be using Areca drivers for that controller so they would the ones to tell if TRIM is supported. This is a relatively new card launched only last year and the documentation does mention SSDs. However, I could not find explicit support for TRIM. If they state TRIM support, then your drives will recieve TRIM when used as seperate disks.

http://www.areca.com.tw/products/1880.htm http://www.areca.com.tw/products/1880.htm
