Are there incompatibilities with the iX48 chipset and the general product line that SSDSA2MH160G201 is part of? As one will note there is a fair amount of SSD / iX48 issues discussed in this community forum.

Is data salvageable, device repairable, or should I just use partner resources to quickly obtain the newer product line, SSDSC2MH120A2K5 / SSDSC2MH250A2K5?

Thanks,

Tim

Tim, can you attach the drive to another computer as a non-boot drive?

There will probably not be another system to "tear apart" to later this week or early next, for the "swap" idea . . .

Tried today to BOOT VA CDROM REVISED FIRMWARE, stalled on booting, FreeDOS prompt. CLEARED BIOS TRIED AGAIN still stalled on booting, FreeDOS prompt.

Tim

I just happened to have that CD with me (after all it is an Intel Officially Released Public Bootable ISO Image).

I also did try "power cycling" system with SSD fully disconnected (DATA/PWR), then clearing BIOS, also NG. Often I have seen a "full disconnect" reset a lot, but not in this case . . .

I am awaiting for a flock of B3 revision boards (from many manufacturers) to arrive over the next two weeks, some may be post CEBIT, so I will have parts and pieces everywhere; but the B2 SATA issue cause us to run light (few spare or partly assembled systems after year-end) for the last month.

Tim
