topic SAS/SATA Expander IC? in Archive

Im looking for a simple IC expander solution to support a Host via RAID Controller (ATTO) to 6 solid state drives.
I see LSI and PMC have devices for 24 or more ports. These seem to require some development other glue logic or interfaces to get them to work. Is there a simple drop in and use Expander IC for this simple architecture? Host > RAID Controller > Drives 1....Drive 6 (SAS or SATA drives). Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you

Hello, on this case it seems that your question is related with the backplane we recommend to contact the manufacturer of the expander IC, this IC expander unfortunately is out of our scope of support.
