If you are installing your new SSD in a laptop computer, a 3rd party SATA-to-USB cable adaptor is needed to migrate your data. This cable will be attached to an external enclosure that protects your drive. Some enclosures do not allow the device ID to be seen and will not work with the Data Migration Software. Below are some enclosures that have been found to work OK for this function.

This is by no means a complete list as there are hundreds of enclosures available. If you have other enclosures that you know work, please add them to the list. Thanks and good migration!

Manuf.

Model #

Specifications

Form Factor

New Egg Link

OKGear

OK250AU2S1-K

Esata and USB 2.0

2.5

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817348022 OKGEAR OK250AU2S1-K External Enclosure

SABRENT

EC-UST25

USB 2.0
<td style="border-bottom: # f0f0f0; border-left: # f0f0f0; padding-bottom: 0in; padding-left: 5.4pt; width: 67.3pt; pad...
