This might just be an Issue with AMD chipsets but it is an issue non the less. I have five Intel SSD's - none are recognized using SATA III raid with an AMD 850 southbridge. The message is something about the parameters not defined for the drives. Anyone know if Intel is planning on addressing this issue??

I would recommend contacting your system manufacturer, it is true that sata III is backward compatible but this option can be disabled by the OEM manufacturer.
