dun really have time to test it out fully....

but I notice a more consistent results in ATTO.....the test machine seems to have a controller that capped below 250MB/s....so I'm going to try it out on my Adaptec 5805Z and see how far can this SAS dongle go......price unknown yet......

SAS to SATA interposers have been around for a while - I'm sure I've seen Dell list SATA drives for PowerEdge (SAS RAID controllers) as being supplied with interposers, allthough they certainly aren't necessarry. Maybe that's what the extra holes are for on the drive carriers - to accomodate the interposer.

Anyway, just reading the datasheet on this new SAS 2 LSI interposer: http://www.lsi.com/DistributionSystem/AssetDocument/SCG_LSISS9252_PB_082709.pdf http://www.lsi.com/DistributionSystem/AssetDocument/SCG_LSISS9252_PB_082709.pdf

Is this what you've got?
