Anyone having problems with X25-E reliability? We bought ten drives and put 8 of them into a RAID array, and over the past month two of them have failed. One could be a fluke, but two out of ten seems like a really high failure rate in a month.

That does seem like an extraordinarily high failure rate. I have had 4 in RAID 0 since shortly after they were released without any problems. I have not seen people posting reviews noting any failures so far. I hope Intel is taking care of you on the warranty.

Sent them back to NewEgg already. I have the serial numbers for the other drives in the shipment... might be from the same batch if that would be helpful.

This is very interesting, and yet concerning, as we are about to deploy a 15 drive x25 RAID-6 array using a PERC 6/E controller.

Rjdevereux, can you clarify which RAID card the drives were connected to when they failed? Was it the Adaptec 5805, or the PERC 6i?
