8840 Firmware update?

Hi All,

I'm just wondering,do you know when will be available the new Firmware"8840"?Because Intel said before 10-08-2009.I can't find it,on the download center.

I am not sure, but it is possible that firmware update delayed. May be it contains same bug as 34nm MLC g2 updated version of ssd.

so far this is what I found on Intel website

They have consolidated firmware 8820 with firmware for 34nm SSD as stated in their release notes

8840 is for X25-E not M

Intel support answered :

"currently we have not been informed on an ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) for the firmware update release."

We have posted the firmware for the X25-E product line. It is version 8850 and you can download the iso file to update your drive

Go to http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

Select Solid State Drives and Caching à Intel High Performance Drive à X25-E, select "Any OS" and download the Intel SSD Firmware Update Tool

When I go to the link for the firmware update for the X25e I only see the Intel® SATA SSD Firmware Update Tool. NOT an ISO file??

Dear CSolid,

I am trying to doownload the firmware for my X25-M 160 GB but I only see a download link at:

... for the Drive Toolbox and not the firm ware.

I installed the tool box but it does not appear to update the firmware.

Please help.
