I installed an Intel 330 SSD in a system using a Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H running Windows XP x32 using the Gigabyte AHCI driver and when I try to run the XP Alignment tool it does not run and tells me to contact Intel support. I assume this is because it is running AHCI. The Intel SSD Toolbox does see the drive also.
