Hi there,

I'm currently running an Intel 510 250GB as my C drive.

I wish to reinstall Windows 7 on it.

I've read that I should do a secure erase, not just a quick format, for maximum performance.

What's the best way to achieve this?

Should I use HDDerase? Another third party tool?

Or should I mount the SSD on another computer (so that I'm not using the SSD as OS) and use the toolbox's secure erase feature?

Also, are there any extra steps or precautions that I need to be aware of? I've heard that even if I'm putting the SSD as a secondary drive on another computer, I have to format it first before I can secure erase.

Are there any dangers to secure erase that could damage my SSD or make it unusable?

Thanks for reading!
